OUR PASTOR
Pastor Samuel Babu Pidugu is from a Hindu family and the fourth - eldest son of Vekateswara Roa Pidugu and Mary Rathnam Pidugu. When he was three years old his mother suffered with hip cancer. During THIS time the Hindu god and goddess could NOT heal his mother.
One day a Christian, attending a church near their home, invited his mother to their church - service. Being a staunch Hindu his mother ignored the invitation. However the Christian did NOT give up and issued another invitation. THIS time his mother accepted the invitation and visited the church. As her condition deteriorated, she found it VERY difficult and painful to walk. Nevertheless she attended the service. THIS day God's Spirit moved SO powerfully that his mother was healed COMPLETELY a few days later. After this she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a Christian.
At the age of three years Pastor Samuel's mother dedicated him to the Lord. Under HER guidance he grew spiritually in stature. He Left school in seventh grade and at the age of fourteen he entered into the ministry. At this stage he was baptized and recommended by his Pastor for Bible studies.
After the completion of his three-year course he got married to his wife Jyothi Param. Both husband AND wife entered into the ministry and started their OWN church in a village called Thotamula in 1993. At the age of eleven days his first child, a baby daughter, passed away. THIS was TRULY a VERY testing time. People started mocking him and blamed God for his loss. The situation got SO bad that he lost his faith in God and planned to leave his congregation and the village. But BEFORE he could carry out his plans, God sent three Pastors to him with a promise that He would provide him with a new church building and bless him with a son. He took God at His Word and stayed. As God kept His promise to Abraham, so did He keep His promise to Pastor Sam. His son Hamelton was born in 1997. In 2000 God blessed him again when his daughter Priscilla was born.
OUR CHURCH
Pastor Samuel Babu founded Emmanuel Power of Grace
Ministries with one convert in Andhra Pradesh, Pedana, South India in 1993. Because these villages are poverty stricken with a high unemployment rate, it makes his task VERY difficult to function effectively. There are MANY orphans in these villages and it's HIS dream to build an orphanage to accommodate them.
One evening when we were busy praying,some people entered our church and disrupted the service. Even the music instruments are damaged and members of our congregation are attacked. But through the years God remained faithful and blessed and protected our ministry. When you pray please remember the church of Emmanuel Power of Grace Ministries in your prayers.
In 2000 we received our new church-building as God has promised. At THIS stage we had ten members who were ALL widows.
Dark days awaited Pastor Sam ahead - the people of our village started making false accusations against him and engaged in witch-craft to stop his ministry. Financially he faced unbearable difficulties and troubles seemed to multiply. But in every complication God provided MIRACULOUSLY ..faithful and true to His promises. Our mother-church grew from 60 members to 150 members in 2003.
In 2005 we opened a second congregation with five members in an adjacent village called Gandhi. Currently we have several ministries in our church. We are very involved in social upliftment of the village-communities and provide food to the needy and alms to the widows.
